Academic Parent-Teacher Teams Readiness and Implementation Roadmap
Learn more about how to implement APTT system-wide.
Academic Parent-Teacher Teams (APTT) is a family engagement strategy designed to equip parents with the knowledge and tools needed to support their children’s academic progress. Developed by Maria Paredes in the Creighton School District (Phoenix, AZ), APTT fosters meaningful, data-driven partnerships between families and educators. The Road Map Project piloted Academic Parent-Teacher Teams (APTT) in Highline and Seattle Public Schools from 2019 to 2022. Building on lessons learned from this pilot across six schools, the Community Center for Education Results (CCER) launched the Readiness Initiative in 2022 to expand the program’s reach and strengthen the broader family engagement system within each district.
Use this roadmap to assess readiness before scaling APTT district-wide. Leaders can sequence supports, professional learning, and infrastructure.
